Hours after the official BBI signature collection launch that was shunned by DP Ruto and his Tanga Tanga allies, the Ruto bandwagon has retreated with Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa declaring the next steps and disclosing who will lead the “No campaigns”.
Reports indicate that the anti-BBI brigade has retreated to plan how to handle the situation after being outsmarted by the handshake brothers who have ignored their rhetoric.
Even after several changes were made to the BBI report, attracting praise from Tanga Tanga lawmakers including Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and nominated Senator Millicent Omanga who hailed it as “good to go”, Barasa maintained that the BBI report is a scam.

The staright-speaking MP who is a close confidant of the DP offered to lead the No campaigns amidst confussion on who will lead the anti-BBI campaigns.
“Kenyans have been made to believe that you can only benefit from a government if one of your own is at the top. That is why BBI is expanding the Executive and increasing the number of MPs,” said Barasa.

Although the Tanga Tanga bandwagon has been opposing the document, the have been coming across as a confused lot with no clear leadership or tangible proposals, but largely on propaganda.
DP Ruto has also been lukewarm, only criticizing the document and calling for dialogue without really declaring a stand on wher he supports or opposes the document.
The lawmaker maintained that the document has not captured how the livelihoods of Kenyan farmers and small-scale traders will be protected and uplifted.
