The outspoken Embakasi East Member Parliament Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino has disclosed the position that Deputy President William Ruto will be held after the 2022 general polls.
Speaking during a youth meeting in Saboti TransNzoia County, the Embakasi East lawmaker stated that the Second in Command will be the opposition leader officially.
Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi was installed as the youth leader in Western Kenya during the youth meeting that was graced by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party secretary general Edwin Sifuna.
“After we have passed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) opposition leader Raila Odinga will be president, Uhuru Kenyatta Prime Minister while the deputy president William Ruto will be the official opposition leader,” Babu Owino stated.
The vocal lawmaker stated that the Deputy President had failed to ensure that what they promised Kenyans with president Uhuru Kenyatta during the past election are fulfilled to the later.
“Ruto promised our children laptops but instead brought wheelbarrows, he promised Kenyans stadiums but instead he brought mkokoteni, he promised to create over 500, 000 job opportunities per year for youths but now he wants them to be mkokoteni riders. Surely what kind of a leader is he,” Babu Owino stated.
The lawmaker further called upon Kenyans to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) saying it holds their future.
“BBI fever is stronger than coronavirus fever and that no one can stop regae. reggae to call upon Kenyans to support BBI since here is where your lives will be transformed,” he added.
Babu went ahead and disclosed the reason as to why the Head of State and his deputy have not been on good terms recently.
“There was no political marriage between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto since it was a marriage without consummation was null and void, their marriage was just come we stay,” he revealed.
