The vocal Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has cleared the air on Mount Kenya leader’s secret meeting to extend President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term.
According to the Daily Nation newspaper reports, a meeting that was held by Mount Kenya leaders might have concealed ODM leader Raila Odinga and the deputy president William Ruto’s ambitions to lead the country next.
The reports further indicated that during the meeting the top mount Kenya leaders came into agreement to only support their own President Kenyatta’s term extension a thing that has put the media house on spot for allegedly misquoting and misreporting various issues of national concern.
The outspoken Gatundu South lawmaker has come to clarify the matter after reports by the Nation Media newspaper that Mt. Kenya leaders are planning to extend Uhuru’s term in power.
Moses Kuria said that they kicked off a number of meetings as Mt. Kenya leaders to discuss the repositioning of the core counties with the additional resources that are come with the new formula.
Kuria expressed displeasure stating that whenever Mt Kenya leaders meet people to raise suspicion and spread propaganda stating there was no politics even succession politics at their meeting.
“Why the Daily Nation chose to run with Fake News as a Headline and even quote shadowy, expired characters who were not at the meeting is baffling. If such is their fodder let them continue reserving space because we will meet again and again for the benefit and welfare of our people of Mt Kenya Region- An integral part of the Great Kenyan Nation, ” Kuria asserted.
He further dismissed the report by the Daily Nation newspaper that the leaders are planning to extend Uhuru’s term asserting that the news is fake and not based on facts.
