New details have emerged on the Deputy President William Ruto’s heavily armed personal security details including GSU squad, Police, men in a black suit, and his personal hired Security.
According to section 24 of the National police service Act, 2011 the second in command also has officers from police service as police officers rounded up to the presidential Escort unit (PEU).
In the act, there are reserved police officers mandated to provide security to the deputy president of the country who is Ruto in Kenya’s case.
The second in command also has a special squad as his security details who are reportedly undergone training at the GSU Training school in Embakasi, Britannia Royal Naval college, and Sandhurst.
The DP’s special squad has also expanded gradually into a more diverse formidable commando team.
The special guarding is normally experienced in VIP protection, handling and demolishing explosives, Security of Vital installations, Anti-terrorism, and sky Marshal services.
The deputy president also has men in black suits and his privately hired security details that usually accompany him in crowded places.
The security personnel is highly equipped to pave way for the second in command’s convoy and reduce crowd contact with the Deputy President.
