Deputy President William Ruto has toady 3rd Sept 2020 again rocked the nation by stating that there was no reason to amend the constitution as proposed in the long-awaited BBI report
Speaking at his official residence in Karen, the DP castigated the amendments citing that they have been championed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and arch-rival former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Suspecting selfishness, the Sugoi merchant reasoned that there are greater matters that needed attention rather than the constitutional changes.
“This is not the time to amend the Constitution, all is not well in government,” the DP urged during a prayer meeting held at his official Karen residence.
The second in command further asked Kenyans and the religious faithful to pray for the country against ethnic and political divisions.
“I am challenging you to pray against the devil that is dividing the country along political and tribal-ethnic lines so that God may help us to stay put together. You have a role to play in praying for divine intervention to unify the country ahead of the next General Election,” he urged.
The DP also talked of the dysfunctionality of the jubilee as a party and urged politicians to be sensitive and considerate of the needs of the Kenyans.
