Akothee’s outstanding work recognized in London

Award-winning musician Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee was crowned with Diamond Special Recognition Award for the year 2020 following her resilient effort in fighting Covid-19 pandemic in Kenya.

Akothee, through her Akothee Foundation, has supported Kenyans throughout the country by providing essential services including; free medical care, free food items, clothing, free Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) during the period of Covid-19 pandemic.

Moments after receiving her award, Akothee thanked the audience particularly Kenyans for tuning in during her awarding ceremony. She also revealed that the event was viewed by over 2 million viewers.

“Hey guys, thank you so much for tuning in during the Zoom live as I am receiving my award. I just love you guys so much,” she said, moments after receiving her award.

The gala award event was organized by Bustline Media, an entertainment event planning and marketing company based in North London in the United Kingdom, and aired globally through zoom on August 31, 2020.

The Diamond Special Recognition gala award was founded by Yetunde Oduwole, a popular writer, columnist, blogger and event planner, and organizer.

The 10th year gala featured other great African artists such as Nigeria’s Davido and Don Jazzy.
