DP Ruto speaks on what failed his bromance with President Uhuru Kenyatta

Deputy President William Ruto yesterday 27 Aug 2020 broke his silence on the disagreements with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a yesternight’s interview with Citizens Joe Ageyo the DP revealed that their arrangement with the head of state was a pre-laid plan thing during the Jubilee government’s first stint.

Affirming that he was supposed to take a back seat in the various state roles and allow the head of state to build and have a legacy.

“We had UhuruRuto, it was agreed that we may need to tone down on the Ruto part so that we could have Uhuru stand out as the leader of Government,” he explained.

“My life is easy…You have not heard me complain… The situation between the President and myself is agreed upon…In the 1st term, it was Uhuruto… In the 2nd term, we want to build a legacy for the President…I am the DP and I know my place,”

The second in command blamed the issues bedeviling the ruling party on busybodies, conmen, and hungry power brokers rendering the pact a non-functional unit.

“The party has been hijacked by busybodies, conmen and brokers… like Murathe and company, people who have no clue on our philosophy, they were nowhere, we appointed them to those positions, their word has now become the party position,” DP Ruto said.

The DP also hinted at the possibility of forming his own outfit ahead of 2022, while acknowledging the possibility of burying the hatchet and redemption of the party.

“I believe there is a chance to sort out our issues in Jubilee. It would be tragic if we were to lose Jubilee…If Jubilee is hijacked by the brokers, we will make the decision at that point,” he added.
