Mudavadi now appoints Eliud Owalo as ANC Secretary General after Muluka’s dramatic resignation

Musalia Mudavadi has appointed Eliud Owalo as his new Secretary General in the ANC Party. This comes just barely hours after Barack Muluka resigned from the party in a dramatic fashion on Wednesday.

Through a letter addressed to the party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Barack Muluka also announced not being a member of any party in Kenya. The former ANC SG cited a need to give Mudavadi a less populated crowd around him and a fresh start ahead of the 2022 general elections.

“The coming into being of a new party constitution a few days ago, especially, gives ANC a good chance for a fresh start and a new lease of life. I doubt that I could add more value to what I have done so far. Moreover, it is now fitting that the space around you should be decongested. This will allow you to make critical decisions on the population and leadership of the party under the new constitution.” said Muluka

“As part of giving you the necessary latitude on the arduous political journey ahead, I have now elected to step aside and move on to other horizons. This, therefore, is my formal letter of resignation both as Secretary General and as a Member of Amani National Congress (ANC)” he added.
