Drama ensued in Trans Nzoia County at an event attended by Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa when politicians resorted to a physical confrontation to resolve their differences.
Trouble started when the local MCAs accused the local MP (Chris Wamalwa) of misusing the local gatherings for his political mileage for his Gubernatorial bid ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Kakai Bisau, a contender in the Gubernatorial race pointed out that a section of politicians were taking advantage of every available opportunity to advance their political ambitions, warning the youth and political leaders to carry themselves with decorum at such functions and never to cause mayhem and never to be incited.
“When you come with your leaders do not cause chaos, that is lack of respect and leaders should also stop using youth to cause trouble.
“Leaders should also mind their language, we should not start wrangles, that will not set a good example to our children,” Said Kakai.
Sitatunga MCA Daniel Kaburu also accused some of the Gubernatorial aspirants for use of foul language during the incident.
“I’ve watched leaders who are eyeing Governorship in Trans Nzoia, some are full of insults and I would like to say that those are not leaders,” he stated.
Matters quickly degenerated from bad to worse with supporters of rival factions clashing as captured in the video below, courtesy of Nation.
