Leaders from the populous Mt Kenya region have scolded ODM leader Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto for not being able to marshal enough Senators to pass the defeated Revenue Bill.
Kenya MCAs Caucus chairperson Chrales Mwangi Nganga lashed at the former premier and William Ruto, saying they are not ‘true friends’of the Mt Kenya region, like they have been claiming.
His sentiments were supported by a prominent Muranga politician who has President Kenyatta’s ears. Deputy President William Ruto has been going around the vote rich region trying to position himself as Mt Kenya’s best bet for 2022.
On the other hand, ODM leader Raila Odinga hopes to reap maximum votes from Central in 2022 due to his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta. This can be partly explained why he whipped Luo Nyanza Senators to vote the defeated Revenue Bill.
However, there are leaders from Mt Kenya who have a strong feeling the former premier intentionally failed to rally ODM Senators outside Luo Nyanza to vote for the Bill.
