The no nonsense Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has finally spoken on the police brutal beating on the Mlango Kubwa County Assembly Member Mutheu Musyimi on Tuesday 28 July.
Matiang’i blasted the police on the on how they handled the matter not sparing the Nairobi MCA’s claiming the assembly has lost its meaning following the way the lawmakers are handling the constant fallout amongst the leaders.
Matiang’i stated that the Assembly has lost its functionality and meaning as the lawmakers had turned it into a battlefield.
“Nairobi County Assembly is not an assembly anymore. It has already turned into a war zone, with members fighting all the time,” the CS stated.
The Interior CS further said that he had directed the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to disarm every police around the county assembly following the Mlango Kubwa MCA’s brutal beating after chaos erupted at the Assembly.
“I have already directed the Inspector-General of Police to disarm each and every individual around the assembly. Nobody should hold a firearm. We have already collected 14 guns in the area so far. I am actually convinced that there are still more firearms,” Matiang’i added.
