A section of Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have picked a new fight with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi for what they termed as conmanship and holding fake endorsement rallies in readiness for 2022.
Led by Kapseret MP Oscar, the DP’s allies downplayed Moi’s endorsement by church pastors and local leaders at an interdenominational gathering in Kenmosa, Eldoret on Sunday 26 Jul 2020, terming it a charade.
Sudi maintained that the move was fake and full of conmanship as it was hosted by people who never attend any church.
“Looking at the photos during the event at Kenmosa, I have never seen these people in any church. They are the latest conmen in town and political rejects of Kanu,” Sudi tweeted.
During the controversial rally, the elders and church leaders prayed and heaped praises on Moi, calling him a humble, accessible and focused leader.
In attendance during the Sunday event were Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut and his Moiben counterpart Silas Tiren, among others.
Some of the church leaders who prayed for the KANU chairman were among others chairman of the pastors and bishops in the region Bishop Wilson Kurui and retired Anglican Bishop of Eldoret Thomas Kogo.
