CJ Maraga responds to claims of being a deadbeat dad after drama at Milimani courts

Chief Justice David Maraga has responded to claims made by Mary Kwamboka who caused drama at Milimani Law Courts, claiming that the CJ is a deadbeat dad.

Through his legal team led by city lawyer Danstan Omari, Maraga dismissed the allegations and maintained that the document presented by the woman in question are fake.

“We have had a perusal and due diligence of the annexures that have been filed to accompany this. For those who have access to the birth certificate. There is no registrar known as Shamwata in the whole country nor has there been an officer with the name N.P Otieno,” Omari said.

Omari stated that the drama that was witnessed today is part of a malicious scheme by unnamed individuals to tarnish the name of the CJ and compel him to resign.

“It has been a war that has been pushed to him as the CJ. Now the war is being pushed to the CJ in his personal capacity, we shall be writing to the DPP and Inspector General [of Police] to investigate the documents that have been annexed to this court,” stated Omari.

Mary Onyancha made headlines today when she maded sensational claims that she was romantically involved with the CJ, with the union ending up in the birth of their six-year old son.

She broke in tears and screamed demanding her case be heard and determined expeditiously.

“Upon the birth of the minor, the plaintiff (Kwamboka) requested the defendant for child support, but the defendant adamantly refused and denied paternity of the minor,” the woman says in her court papers.

Kwamboka claims the judge, who was dispensing justice in a lower court at the time, “frustrated all the efforts by the plaintiff to reach out to him for child support”.
