Kesses MP Dr Swarup Mishra had a hard time in his constituency on Monday evening after goons disrupted a meeting he was holding with his constituents in Kesses. Dr Mishra is being perceived as a sympathizer to President Uhuru Kenyatta, at a time when allmost all Rift MPs have cut ties with the head of state.
”We demand he respects the Deputy President or he will not be able to work in peace. These people are determined to bring him down because they believ our MP does not support Ruto’s calls for ealy politics,” said Rajab Tumoi, a Kesses resident.
Dr Mishra is not the only Uasin Gishu politician facing hostility from Tnga Tanga due to their relationship with President Kenyatta. The county’s Senator Prof Margaret Kamar is also targeted after she shifted her allegiance to the Head of State.
Ruto allies led by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi have accused Kamar and her Trans Nzoia colleague Michael Mbito of being traitors, after the two attended State House meeting on Kithure Kindiki’s ouster.
