Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko has cleared the air on claims that Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho is on exit plan to decamp the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
Speaking on Tuesday 23 June outside Parliament building, Mishi trashed reports that surfaced online indicating that the Mombasa Governor had decamped ODM, reiterating Joho is still part of ODM.
“There has been a lot of reports on social media, we are seeing a lot of propaganda on Ali Hassan Joho, I want to lay it open that Joho cannot leave ODM in his political career.
“He is under Raila Odinga, his loyalty cannot be swayed and cannot be changed, now that we are under the handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta, Joho will remain under these leaders,” Mishi stated.
The Likoni lawmaker further stated that those thinking Joho will be influenced to join another coalition to stop daydreaming assuring that Joho’s future political ambitions are in the ODM party.
On Sunday 21 June one Twitter user identified as TeamWilliamRuto purported that Deputy President William Ruto had a meeting with Joho at the Jubilee Asili Center and the meeting agenda was the country’s future.
Joho’s next move is still unclear as he is not eligible to vie for the Gubernatorial seat after serving two consecutive terms.
