Tanga Tanga MP, Hon Waluke Likely to Lose his Seat Following Guilty Verdict.

Sirisia MP Hon. John Waluke may likely lose his seat if he is sentenced to more than6 Months in Prison.

Hon. Waluke was found guilty alongside his co-director Grace Wakhungu, the mother to Former environment cabinet secretary, Prof. Judy Wakhungu, currently, the Kenyan ambassador to France after they were found guilty in a charge involving their involvement in defrauding the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).

According to Chief magistrate Elizabeth Juma, “Since the status of the accused has changed, their innocence has been determined after the court established, they are guilty they cannot continue to be out on bond,” She said.

Both Hon.Waluke and Mrs Wakhungu were taken to prison after terms of their bond were revoked following a guilty verdict. They await sentencing on Thursday in an eagerly awaited verdict that could send Sirisia into an early by election.

Hon. Waluke was found guilty of three counts of obtaining money by false pretenses while Ms Wakhungu was convicted in five counts including a charge of perjury.

Hon. John Waluke has been an ardent supporter of Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, in what is now called Tanga Tanga Wing of Jubilee party. He is serving his second term as a member of parliament after being elected during the 2013 General elections.

Should he lose his seat as a member of parliament, an epic duel will ensue pitting rival Ford Kenya factions, one led my Senator Moses Wetangula and another by Hon. Wafula Wamunyinyi. Currently wrangles within Ford Kenya have created animosity between the two camps trying to outwit each other. The both parties are awaiting the outcome of the case before the court to establish bonafide leadership of the party.

As we head towards 2022, Kenya is yet to experience political battles especially in western Kenya. Great days lie ahead.
