New details have emerged on a new political party linked to the former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri which has been fully incorporated and can now begin rolling out plans ahead of 2022 general polls.
The acting registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu on Tuesday 23 June revealed that The Service Party (TSP) was issued with a certificate of registration after meeting all the regulations.
“The party has been fully registered after rigorous process that has taken them one year and two months,” Nderitu disclosed.
Reports by the Star Publication indicate that the TSP party which is the new one in Kenya’s expanding political domain is likely to be unveiled this on Wednesday 24 June.
This gestures a political come back by the former Agriculture CS, who was shown exit door from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration in the ongoing purge targeting Deputy President William Ruto’s allies in January.
Kiunjuri’s TSP party is the latest entrant in President Kenyatta’s Central Kenya backyard as leaders position themselves for the 2022 politics, with the escalating feuds in the ruling Jubilee party, the former CS is seeking to take control of the Central region with the new party.
Kiunjuri hopes to get hold of the region and be the one to pull off a genius stroke in attracting Mount Kenya’s support as the region shops for a new kingpin after the Head of State 2022 exit.
TSP was registered by a group of youths under Kariuki Munyoroku leadership, issued with an interim certificate in January and is establishing itself to be a beneficiary of the looming Jubilee collapse.
