Police storm DP Ruto meeting, lob teargas to disperse attendees

Earlier on, the police had erected roadblocks on roads heading to the Malava MP's home

The police on Saturday stormed a meeting that was supposed to be presided over by DP William Ruto and dispersed attendees, among them MP Didmus Barasa. The MP, accompanied by Boni Khalwale and Malulu Injendi (MP Malava) had already arrived at the venue awaiting DP Ruto’s arrival.

“We are sitting 1.5 metres apart. you cannot disrupt this meeting where everybody is observing the rules. The homestead is big and there are more than 15 people in the compound, you can’t expect others to vacate,”  MP Barasa is heard in the footage.
