Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe now says the Jubilee Party is free of elements who have been sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s agenda. Speaking just hours after DP Ruto met dewhipped Jubilee MPs at the newly created Jubilee Asili Center, Murathe urged Kenyans not to get infected with the Jubilee Asili disease.
”For a very long time Uhuru’s Jubilee Party agenda has been attacked by a political leprosy by the name jubilee Asili. But, after massive fumigations, we have successfully separated and our focus now is delivery of services and ensuring we unite this country,” Murathe said, adding,”We are therefore urging patriots to refrain from contracting this disease.”
Yesterday, Deputy President William Ruto gave the clearest indication he could be headed to a new Jubilee faction, Jubilee Asili. A breakaway from the original Jubilee Party, which has been taken over by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his men.
While speaking at the ruling party’s headquarters on June 17th, Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe during the signing of an agreement between Wiper and CCM, Mutahe confirmed the move will pave way for a joint coalition with the major parties.
If Ruto forms Jubilee Asili, it will be a reminisce of August 1992, when FORD split into two factions – FORD-Asili (led by Kenneth Matiba) and FORD-Kenya (led by Oginga Odinga).
