Kitui Country Governor Charity Ngilu has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve Kitui County Government following the escalating rift between her and the County Assembly Members.
The governor’s NARK Party called upon the Head of State to initiate the process of dissolving Kitui county government in bid of ending the current wrangling between the County Assembly and the Executive.
The NARK officials led by their Chairman Miltonic Kitute, stated that it was high time for the President to mediate in the prolonged leadership crisis claiming it has derailed development agendas denying residents their rights to enjoy the work of the county government.
“It is crystal clear that the County Assembly is hell bent on frustrating Governor Ngilu’s efforts to serve Kitui electorate and it must be stopped for the sake of saving Kitui from maladministration,” reads Kitute’s statement in part.
“The MCAs have since Ngilu took office been sabotaging her administration through rejection or delay of budgets, rejection of Ngilu’s nominees for assorted county posts and refusal to pass critical bills to enable her deliver for the locals,” Kitute decried.
This crops up barely a week after the Kitui boss slammed Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka accusing him of engineering the endless wrangles between her and the county lawmakers who rejected her six nominees to county public service board after delaying the supplementary budget approval.
“The Wiper MCAs have been using their numerical muscle to frustrate my development agenda for Kitui people while Kalonzo has been remote controlling them,” she told reporters in her office.”For instance, I am informed that yesterday he made a call to his MCAs instructing them to pass the supplementary budget which the house has been sitting on for months,” Ngilu stated.
