Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru may be kicked out of office after DP Ruto outfoxed Jubilee Party in attempts to muzzle MCAs. The ruling party had attempted to scare some MCAs to disown the ouster motion, which has badly flopped. Waiguru had summoned seven MCAs to her residence to discuss the impending ouster motion, only for the leaders to storm out.
The seven MCAs claimed they were being forced to append their signatures on a petition, withdrawing their signatures in support of the motion that also threatens Kieleweke wing of Jubilee. The summoning was done from the party’s headquarters, through the county’s branch. The leaders claimed they had been threatened and intimidated by senior party officials.
The seven MCAs claimed, Kirinyaga Branch Chair of the ruling party told them they risk losing their salaries if they did not append their signatures in the petition. The Kirinyaga Jubilee Branch Chair Muriithi Kangara, they said, demanded they denounce the impeachment motion tabled by MCA David Wangui (Mutira).
Given the role she plays in Kieleweke, panic has gripped the cam associated to President Uhuru Kenyatta. Some members believe, if Governor Waiguru was to be impeached, it would badly destabalize Kieleweke in the Mt Kenya region.
