The Nairobi Metropolitan Sevice, under the leadership of Major Mohammed Badi has trained its eyes on Weston Hotel and the surrounding land, which it is believed the new unit is plotting on how to repossess. This come just weeks after the Ruai Sewerage land, owned by DP Ruto was taken by Nairobi County.
Aware of the planned eviction, DP Ruto has begun transferring hotel facilities from Weston to a house in Karen. According to a number of eye witnesses, they have been seeing lorries lining up to carry the hotel property for the last two days.
The Central organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli on Labor Day, showered President Uhuru Kenyatta with praise for repossessing thousands of acres -of government land in Ruai, Nairobi County which had been grabbed by private developers. The land, until the reclamation, was in the hands of Deputy President William Ruto.
“Your Excellency, do not get tired [of repossessing public land from grabbers]. We want you to go and reclaim plots initially owned by the Government. Be aggressive in that quest the way your government was when it was reclaiming the Ruai land. I support you,” said Atwoli while addressing the nation during Labour Day celebrations presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House-Nairobi.
