Ray Agalomba – Lugari, Kakamega County
Kakamega deputy governor Prof. Philip Museve Kutima has called on Lugari Member of Parliament Hon. Ayub Savula to shelve his gubernatorial ambitions and throw his weight behind him during the 2022 general elections.
“Hon. Savula and I have been friends for more than two decades now and I believe he will support my candidature as he goes for another term as Lugari MP during the 2022 polls,” he said.
Prof. Kutima who is also the Kakamega County ODM chairman was speaking at Lugari ward, Lugari sub county during the funeral service for Mzee Arthur Angatia, father to the Lugari sub county lawmaker. He eulogized the late as a devoted christian and a strong pillar of his family and community at large.
“The experience and networks I have acquired since inception of devolution as the county’s second in command will be put to test at the right time. Currently, I am committed to supporting H.E. the governor in implementing his manifesto,” the deputy governor said.
He also weighed in on the ongoing Luhya unity discussion where he called on the Western political supremos to build a unity of purpose which can catapult one of them to the country’s top seat. “Calls for Luhya unity have existed even before leaders like Governor Oparanya and Musalia Mudavadi joined politics. I call on them to give us the direction because wananchi are already united,” Prof. Kutima said.
The deputy governor also conveyed condolences and a personal contribution from H.E. the governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya.
Lurambi lawmaker Hon. Titus Khamala, Kakamega women representative Elsie Muhanda and her Vihiga counterpart Hon. Beatrice Adagala were in attendance. Also present were Members of County Assembly led by host MCA Hon. Musa Makhapila and other senior government officers.
