There was a standoff in Webuye, Bungoma after a section of western leaders forced to change venue of the planned Bukusu elders meeting following dreaded fears of an attack by goons.

Eugene Wamalwa, Noah Wekesa, Musikari Kombo among those stranded at Webuye airstrip after reports that the goons sponsored by a enraged local politician had taken over the venue they were to host the said meeting.

The Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa was today expected to begin a tour of both Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties.

The Wamalwa led charity mission was to begin this morning in Webuye West that started with the distribution of food and non food items to floods victims.

At midday, Hon Wamalwa was expected to be at Kitale Airstrip for the commissioning of the airstrip’s expansion and thereafter at Kitale ASK showground for distribution of food stuffs and conclude the day by a meeting with elders from the county

The development comes amid reports that CS Eugene Wamalwa is being accused of being behind a deliberate plot take over the Ford Kenya party from besieged Moses Wetangula.

Wetangula was ousted as the Ford Kenya Party Leader by a section of his own party officials led by Secretary general Hon Eseli. The ouster saw Hon Wamunyinyi being made an interim party leader ahead of planned party elections.
