President Uhuru Kenyatta’s latest move to abolish the office of the deputy president has left a number of Kenyans together with other leaders wondering how it happened.
The Head of State decided to abolish the office of the Deputy President which is now under him through the executive orders, a move that has rendered the Deputy President William Ruto powerless as he will operate under the president who takes over the DP’s powers to hire and fire.
This popped up after many assumed that the two top leaders could be having good times following the Madaraka day celebration where they almost donned the same attire including tied as they used to do before.
The Deputy President has not addressed the nation since the President’s latest announcement but one of his key allies took to social media to express his displeasure.
Taking to his Twitter handle page, the Elgeyo Marakwet County Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who is also among the Jubilee leaders who were ousted from Senate plum positions for being against president’s agendas stated that the President’s move was not good and if not condemned then the 2 years will be about succession politics.
“Relax. The next 2 years will be about Succession politics. It will come In various forms; Fight for legislative control, change the constitution, fire&hire CSs &other senior Govt officials, political arrests, intimidation of Judges, etc then Boom-Time is over. Nothing much. PEACE BE STILL!” Murkomen posted.
