The vocal Narok county Senator Ledama Ole Kina has made an about-turn after Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki ouster from Senate Deputy Speaker going ahead to declare his loyalty to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party and the party leader Raila Odinga.
In the recent past Ledama was at a warpath with his ODM party after the members led by the Siaya County Senator moved to kick him from the Chairman of the Senate County Public Accounts and Investments Committee position after his loyalty to the party was questioned.
The outspoken youthful lawmaker went ahead to warn the party that things will get nasty after he was kicked out of the senate committee but it seems he has backed down, declaring his loyalty to the party and Mr. Odinga who is the party leader.
Speaking during the Senate House debate on Kindiki’s impeachment motion, Ledama announced that he was loyal to his party contrary to earlier claims that he was planning to quit after he was ejected senate’s powerful position.
“I want to assure my party leader that despite all the rumors you are getting, I’m loyal to the core,” Ledama stated.
The lawmaker went ahead to support Kithure’s outer accusing him of being disloyal to the ruling Jubilee party that sponsored him to the Senate.
“My dear brother Kithure Kindiki, this is not a MATTER of democracy but PARTY LOYALTY, and as it stands your goose is cooked. You are not LOYAL to your party. Your party has made a decision. I support this Motion,” Ledama added.
