Dida: Murkomen mocking Marakwet flood victims with chopper bought by Kimwarer and Arror looted billions

Former Presidential Candidate Mwalimu Dida has taken a swipe at William Ruto aligned Jubilee leadership over the ongoing catastrophic flash floods and landslides that has hit the residents of Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.

Hon Mwalimu Dida took on the leaders whom he accused of being the hypocrites who stole allocated funds that was meant to prevent such tragic calamities.

Through his twitter handle, Dida said the government did its part by offering a long lasting solution by allocation funds and hiring environmental experts who surveyed the area and designed dams to control the flooding and the slides.

He would regret that the well-meaning dam projects collapsed due to the greed of their own local leaders who looted the allocated funds without shame of their own people’s deaths and suffering.

“Experts designed dams and the government allocated funds. Some few politicians stole all the money. Now landslides and floods are killing Kenyans. These same people are flying helicopters(bought with the stolen money) to those affected areas and the affected people praise them!” he said

This comes after the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen yesterday took a chopper from Nairobi in guise of heading to the ground to assist his people some of whom were killed and others rendered homeless by the ravaging flash floods and landslides that swept away their homes, animals and other millions worth properties.

EX-Treasury CS Henry Rotich and his PS Kamau Thugge and atleast 26 other government officials were charged in 2019 after government lost Ksh21 billion in the Kimwarer and Arror dams’ scandal.

The figures was strongly disputed by the Deputy President William Ruto who said out of the alleged Ksh21 Billion lost, its only Kshs7 billion that was in question.
