Embattled Nairobi County governor Mike Sonko has moved to court to fight his impeachment motion.
On Monday, March 2, Mike Sonko moved to Milimani Law Courts seeking orders to stop a section of Nairobi MCAs from tabling his impeachment motion.
However, Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok says push to impeach Sonko cannot be stopped.
Speaking in a radio interview on Monday morning, Imwatok said President Kenyatta is being misquoted by the claims being made.Sonko has up to today to respond to the impeachment motion tabled against him.
On Saturday President Uhuru Kenyatta has summoned MCAs from Nairobi County at State House on ahead of Sonko’s impeachment motion that is set to be tabled on Tuesday.
The Jubilee side of the county assembly has had its own division and wrangles.
The latest one is over the looming impeachment of Sonko which has created further division.
