Mother, wife to Kiambu MCA who mysteriously died in India speaks

As Kenyans continue to wonder around Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi’s mysterious death his mother and wife have broken their silence following his death.

Speaking to a local publication, Millicent Achieng, mother to the late MCA narrated how his son visited her at her workplace before flying to India promising her that would return on Sunday evening.

“He was jovial and in high spirits as usual. We joked, that was the last conversation I had with him,” Achieng recalled.

She further noted that before his trip to India, Omondi showed no signs of bad health doubting reports that he suffered a heart attack.

“What I am hearing; that my son died of a heart attack in a hotel room is strange. Cyrus never had any health problem. We are optimistic that the post-mortem will tell the truth,” she said.

She also rubbished claims that Omondi had recorded a statement with police over threats to his life stating that his son never complained that his life was in danger.

Jackline Mwongeli, wife to Omondi also revealed that she communicated with him on Friday after he arrived in India.

“Cyrus left Nairobi on Thursday last week. On Friday, he called to inform me that he had arrived safely. He was jovial and asked how the children were fairing. I told him we were ok,” said Jackline Mwongeli.
