Al Shabab militants abducts two, burn down houses in Thursday morning attack

News breaking this morning indicate that suspected Al Shabaab militants raided a village in Garissa County, abducted two men; Mohammed Bashir and his son Abdi Mohammed before burning down houses within the village.

The deadly attackers are said to have targeted houses within Sangailu where Kenya Police Reservists (KPR) officers have been living.

“The militants stormed here in the morning, caused havoc and left after burning our houses,” one Hassan Geley said

On Tuesday night, the militants equally stormed the same village and burnt down houses belonging to KPR officers.

The incident took place just weeks after the militants stormed Saretho primary school killing four teachers.

The shocking incident saw the Kenyan Government transfer all the non-local teachers who have been working in the vast North Eastern region.

Close to a week ago, Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i issued tough orders to the area chiefs saying that they had no option but to deal with the terrorist group.

“Work hand in hand with village elders to ensure that security and normalcy is restored,” Dr Matiang’i told the Chiefs.
