Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement leaders have now claimed that there are plans hatched by Deputy President William Ruto to cause chaos at Mombasa’s BBI consultative meeting.
Speaking during a press conference the leaders claimed that DP Ruto is working on a strategy to create an impression that his allies were not welcome rally events by causing disruptions.
“We have accurate information and intelligence that the DP and his group have adopted a strategy to come to Tononoka to cause chaos and it has actually begun in Mombasa this morning, through provocations and they use that as an excuse to state that the BBI forum is not open to Kenyans and it has a hidden agenda as well as practising exclusion. This strategy will not work as we wish to inform the DP that our people are ready,” Saboti MP Caleb Amisi said.
Amisi want ahead to warn the DP, saying that he will be held responsible incase of any damages or chaos.
“Let the DP and his people be on notice that we will hold them accountable for any chaos, losses or interruptions made on this occasion tomorrow,” he stated.
On Tuesday, MPs allied to DP Ruto vowed to participate in future Building Bridges Initiatives meetings.
The leaders, who were led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, said they would start participating in the rallies in the coming weekend.Mombasa will play host to the BBI meetings this coming weekend.
“We will be participating in all public BBI rallies across the country and this weekend we will be in Mombasa together with the BBI team,” announced Mr Murkomen.
