President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday re-organized his government, a move that saw DP William Ruto further sidelined after the head of state took control of the country’s key ministries. However, reports are emerging of a Monday meeting between President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga. It was not a coincidence that Odinga was also in Mombasa on Tuesday to convene the first ministerial meeting of LAPPSET countries aimed at establishing a representative Steering Committee as an umbrella body to coordinate it’s implementation.
”The two were together on Monday night. The president has been running government from Mombasa State House for the last two weeks. Raila landed in Mombasa on Thursday evening. You can connect the dots,” a high ranking official said on condition of anonymity.
The meeting between the two leaders revolved around the BBI, a joint project of the two as well as how to crash Tanga Tanga. It was at this meeting that it was resolved all DP William Ruto’s allies in government, who had taken a front line in succession politics were to be axed. This is how the hammer fell on Mwangi Kiunjuri. It was also as a result of this meeting that led to Tanga Tanga MPs being locked out of the presidential function the following day in Nakuru.
Aware of the plot, DP William Ruto’s right hand man and Soy MP Caleb Kositany warned of a rough ride and heavy turbulence in the DP’s camp but urged their supporters to remain calm amid the storm.
”Team William Ruto fasten your seat belts, we are approaching heavy turbulence for a short while, then it will be calm and we land at our destination. Say a prayer for William Ruto PhD. We know the enemy and the direction he is coming from. If GOD IS FOR US WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?” MP Kositany posted on Twitter on Thursday.
