The DCI detectives also informed the public about the operation through social media where the directorate posted, “DCI and police officers based at Kamukunji, in pursuit of information on notorious stolen mobile phone dealers, raided a shop within Muoroto along Jogoo road where they recovered a total of 515 assorted mobile phones, majority of them being smart phones.”

The officers also announced that the three suspects arrested during the operation could not account for all the phones found in their possession.

“The trio will appear in court, will be charged with having in their possession suspected stolen property contrary to Section 323 of the Penal Code and the recovered items presented as an exhibit,” the DCI further informed.
