REVEALED: Inside DP Ruto’s latest Plot to Oppose the BBI

Following the highly successful Nyanza BBI Convention, DP William Ruto’s strategists have gone back to the drawing board to strategize on the way forward. Unlike previously, Raila Odinga has taken over the BBI narrative and it now seems the entire process is being conducted in his and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s terms.

Tanga Tanga camp is ratted with the planned BBI Conventions which will be conducted across the country, saying it is a waste of government resources that serves interest of few selfish individuals.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, a close ally of the DP, said the fresh BBI round of talks was a waste of money, saying as a region they are satisfied with what is in the report.

“This is a total waste of money. In fact, this second round is an ODM affair. They are now asking ODM governors to use money belonging to the counties to organise useless meetings they are calling consultative talks. We will not engage in such wastage,” said the senator.

His sentiments seem to echo those of DP William Ruto who is wondering why the government is spending 10B shillings on the BBI process yet the report was out and everyone had accepted it.

“They should come out and say what they don’t like about the BBI. We all have a right to express our ideas and as we move forward, we should not misuse money meant for development by channeling it to campaign for this BBI,” Ruto added.

By controlling the BBI narrative, DP Ruto’s handlers feel Odinga and his camp are going to bag the political capital from the process. To control this, the group will fight the regional conventions and make sure they disintegrate and fail to achieve their intended goal.
