Mumias East MP Ben Washiali has laughed off a meeting organized by COTU boss Francis Atwoli and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya insisting that a meeting without Bungoma Senator Moses Watangula, ANC party leader Musalia Musavadi and him is not a complete luhya meeting.
This comes after Atwoli and Oparanya organized a meeting set to be held on January 18th at the Bukhungu stadium, Kakamega County.
Unverified reports have indicated that President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga are expected to grace the event in a bid to popularise the much hyped BBI.
MP Washiali reacting to the news kf the event wondered how a ‘mega’ meeting would be held in the Luhya land without knowledge of key leaders.
“A meeting without Mudavadi, Wetang’ula and myself cannot be called a Luhya event, the organisers will be shocked when we eventually release a statement,” said Mr Washiali.
Mudavadi and Wetangula also denied knowledge of the meeting.
“I am not involved at all in the meeting. I don’t know who is planning it, so I would not comment further,” said Mudavadi.
