The embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after his health condition worsens last night at Kamiti Maximum Prison.
In Yesterday’s court hearing the Nairobi County chief was allowed to seek medical attention.
Sonko and his co-accused were yesterday remanded for two more days pending ruling on his bail application after denying multiple corruption charges pressed against them before Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi.
Sonko through his lawyers had applied for bail arguing that the governor was sick and needed medical attention, but Prosecution team opposed the application saying the governor was a flight risk having escaped from police custody before.
The magistrate instead directed that the governor Sonko be offered medical treatment in the presence of the prison authorities while setting the ruling on the bail application on Wednesday 11 December at 11 AM.
