Police Launch a Manhunt for the Nyeri Deputy Speaker Captured in a Video Beating Up a Youth

    Nyeri Police officers have launched a serious manhunt for the Nyeri County Assembly Deputy Speaker Samuel Kariuki who was captured in a video that went viral mercilessly beating up one of the youths following the Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga teams clash at Giakanja Boys Secondary School.

    Police have issued a warrant of arrest against the Deputy Speaker despite having been arrested during the Sunday 8 December chaos and released later.

    The deputy speaker and also Ruring’u Ward Member of County Assembly(MCA) in a video captured on Sunday is seen beating up the youth mercilessly with a wooden rod as others watched cheerfully.

    The man tried running away but didn’t manage to escape from the heavy beating since he fell down and the deputy speaker pounces on him again.

    Wilfred Nyagwanga the Central Regional Commissioner stated that a warrant on arrest had been issued against Kariuki and all those who were involved in the fracas to be arrested and presented in court.
