Director of Public Prosecutions boss Noordin Haji has dared the embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu to opening a new office to run the county Thursday following Waititu’s Thursday’s announcement to open a new office.
DPP Haji ddressing the media on Sonko’s arrest, argued that the High Court orders issued to Waititu in July and August 2019 still held.
DPP didn’t spare the Senate either, castigated the senate for giving governors a chance operate freely from anywhere apart from the county office, referring to Justice Mumbi Ngugi’s orders that county heads facing corruption charges were barred from accessing their headquarters.
Haji’s remarks read, “Am warning Governor Waititu and his Samburu County counterpart not to break the terms set by the High Court against them. If they dare break the orders, we shall take action and make arrests immediately.”
“All bodies must be ready for a ruthless war against any forms of crime to secure the future of our children. We shall not be intimidated,” DPP Haji further added.
Governor Waititu on Thursday 5 December announced he resume official duties while addressing Limuru Market residents in Kiambu Country adding that he would open new offices on December 6 after the Senate ruling they are free to operate anywhere apart from the county’s headquarters.
