The Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua revealed how the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga managed to seek help from the former President Mwai Kibaki yo develop his backyard.
This comes during Mutua’s interview on Milele FM’s breakfast show on Tuesday, December 3 with Alex Mwakideu on the fulfillment of promises the leaders during campaign seasons.
Mutua stated that he learned how developed Raila’s backyard was when he visited Bondo for the first time adding the former prime minister spearheaded the development in Luo Nyanza, turning his guns to the Wiper keader Kalonzo Musyoka, he blamed Kalonzo for failing to use the opportunity he had to develop Ukambani when he was the Vice President.
“I was in Bondo the other day, I was sent by Baba. I was at a fundraiser for a secondary school, it was well built and installed with all learning equipment,” Mutua stated.
“While I was in government, Raila would approach former President Kibaki and beg, beg to have the Kisumu-Bondo Road constructed, the Kisumu airport expanded. But I did not see any leader from my community despite being seniour in the government begging for anything on behalf of the people of Ukambani,” Mutua added.
Mutua also roasted leaders for making empty promises during campaigns, adding the inability of leaders to fulfill the promises in their manifestos was a major contributor to the harsh economic times Kenyans are facing now.
