Siaya Senator James Orengo was one of the speakers at Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday during the launching of BBI Report to the public. However after hes spoke, when President Uhuru later rose to gave his address, the head of state claimed the Siaya Senator has his debt which he (Orengo) has not yet repaid.
”I would like to echo what my friend Senator Orengo has just said here. And by the way he still has my debt that he hasn’t paid yet. Hio tutaongea baadae,” the president said amid laughter from the audience.
President Uhuru is known for his playful jabs at his close friends not only in politics but also to his personal friends outside politics. During the requiem mass for the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, Uhuru excited the audience when he claimed Collymore had a gift for him.
During the service, Uhuru said he was disappointed he did not get time to return to Collymore’s house to collect a ‘special gift’.
“I was supposed to have gone back to collect my gift reserved for a special friend from Bob and so Peter Kenneth, Oigara and crew, you will pay. That did not belong to you,” Uhuru said.
Kenyans are now left guessing what debt belonging to the president Senator Orengo might be having and whether he will repay it.
