ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi is secretly reaching out to ODM Leader Raila Odinga after his candidate, Eliud Owalo became a distant third in the Kibra by-election. This is after it emerged that his political outfit has zero influence and cannot stand on its own or sustain a presidential campaign in 2022. Mudavadi’s party now wants ODM to honor the 2017 NASA Coalition agreement and is working round the clock to make sure Raila Odinga endorses Mudavadi in 2022.
However, the ODM has been adamant that NASA is already on its deathbed and the party has already moved on in seeking new political partners as country heads to 2022. The relationship between ODM and ANC was broken when Musalia Mudavadi began to attack Raila Odinga through ANC Secretary General Barack Muluka. Mudavadi has since disowned the attacks.
”Muluka does not speak for me. His opinion on Raila and ODM are his own personal views and I think it is unfair for people to say Muluka is speaking on my behalf,” Mudavadi said a week ago.
In the attacks, Muluka branded Raila the biggest baggage in Kenyan politics and told him to retire from active politics to join his peers in farming.
With this latest revelation, of Mudavadi secretly reaching out to Raila Odinga, Kenyans are keen to see whether it will revive the defunct NASA.
