Kenya National Netball Team

Emmaculate Kabutha the Kenya Netball Federation president has denied allegations that the national women’s Netball team could not afford to buy food but survived on loaves of bread and milk during the Africa Cup Championship competition in South Africa.

Kabutha speaking upon their arrival in the country also denied claims that the Cameroon national provided food for the netball team.

Kabutha termed the allegations about the team’s misery during the championships in South Africa as rumors confirming the team received adequate support from the government and they were well taken care of in South Africa.

Kabutha explained that the government booked full board at Fomo Lodge for the team and also paid for the team members’ visas, airfare, and tournament fee.

Part of Kabutha’s statement reads, “We are not happy with the false reports being milled around and we categorically distance ourselves with them. We know we have enemies of the sport who are trying to get at the ministry through us.”

Kabutha also confirmed that they have received sufficient support from the ministry since last year and they were grateful for everything.
