Daring Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho excited the Mama Ngina Dive crowd at the Mashujaa Day celebrations with his remark challenging the Deputy President William Somei Ruto to join hands in supporting ‘Handshake’ that is threatening to split Jubilee party.
Joho’s challenging remake came as a joke when he was inviting the Deputy President to address the congregation at the Mashujaa celebrations.
The crowd cheerfully welcomed DP Ruto as they were waiting for his response on Handshake bid.
DP Ruto tactfully avoided talking about Joho’s challenge in the presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga but quickly proceeded to give his speech.
DP Ruto diverted the crowd’s attention by praising President Uhuru Kenyatta for the development witnessed during his tenure despite declaring that Build the Bridges Initiative (BBI) has to be validated again by Kenyans earlier on since people waited eagerly to hear his take on Handshake that gave light to BBI after Joho prompted him to support Handshake.
