Shock as DP Ruto declares every Wednesday as a fasting day for him and his staff in their respective offices.
The Deputy President William Ruto has declared every Wednesday as fasting day for him and all his staff Harambee House Annex and Karen offices.
DP Ruto has been donating large sums of cash to churches all over the country as a way to ensure that his 2022 presidential bid remains intact.
According to the Daily Nation report on Sunday, September 6, DP Ruto declared every Wednesday a day of fasting day and all the workers are expected to hold the fast from morning till evening.
Ruto’s press secretary said that the directive was a personal-family Christian ritual and as Ruto’s staff they respect it as it will strengthen those who join the fast.
The fasting idea was earlier supported by the majority whip Benjamin Washiali in the National Assembly who stated that DP Ruto plans to visit all the churches in the country before the 2022 General Elections is okay.
Even though other people support Ruto’s move, some have a different opinion regarding the same for instance, the Vice-Chancellor of St Paul’s University Professor Joseph Galgalo, who trains religious leaders does not agree with the Deputy President’s strategy to get votes.
