Well manicured nails go a long way in boosting a woman’s confidence. There’s no good feeling like holding a wine glass with a hand endowed with cute nails. As a matter of fact, your date could be hanging on to your hand due to its cuteness.
However no matter how good of a beauty booster nail polish is, a new study by Duke University has revealed that there may be a relation between a common ingredient in nail polish and weight gain.
The ingredient which is an enemy of progress in this case is called Triphenyl Phosphate(TPHP). TPHP is used to preserve nail polish and make it flexible but research has shown it also triggers weight gain when it comes in contact with the skin.
According to the research, scientists are suspicious of the component which they say interferes with a protein that plays a crucial role in regulating the body’s metabolism and production of fat cells.
Research shows that nail polish can get absorbed easily into the body. As a result, the TPHP leaches into our body causing imbalance in your metabolism hence serial weight gain.
So if you are wondering why you gain an alien 5kgs even with extreme diets and monster gyming, now you know your nail polish is to blame.
