McDonald Mariga’s political aspiration has been hit by one more nasty blow after President Uhuru swore not to sell Mariga in Kibra.
Its alleged that President Uhuru has no intention to partake in unnecessary local politicking. Credible sources close to the president have it that the head of state is busy pushing for development agendas and other important state functions.
True to the allegations, President Kenyatta has steered clear of the political scene for a while now and only comes out strongly to warn the politicking leaders to stick to delivering to mwananchi.
Mariga who’s running for the Kibra parliamentary seat on the Jubilee ticket has suffered set backs since he tabled his interest to represent the people of Kibra. The hallmark being getting ridiculed for lacking the necessary political muscle to fall in line with the late Ken Okoth’s able visionary leadership.
The former Intermilan midfielder, was recently cleared to vie for the prestigious Kibra seat after he was initially flagged off for not being a dully registered voter. However, his campaign has been stagnant with a section of Jubilee’s senior politicians abandoning him to endorse ODM’s Imran Okoth.
Mariga who’s closely sheltered by Deputy President, William Ruto, will be facing off political heavyweights; Imran Okoth and Eliud Owalo come November 7.
