ODM leader Raila Odinga is assembling a strong political politburo which is comprising of new voices from former enemy territories. Raila has systematically raided both Mt Kenya and the Rift Valley regions by using his overbearing presence in government to court new allies. Also in the new Odinga team are former ODM stalwarts like Rachel Shebesh who are making a comeback to the Orange Party. The AU Envoy is using his handshake to turn tables on DP William Ruto and he is so far doing good.

Waiguru, is trying to be the top voices in the region and is emerging as a strong defender of the president, in a region facing leadership if President Uhuru exits the stage in 2022.
“Raila Odinga is my friend, he is my political ally. We discuss serious talks. We had a history but we settled that, ,” said Waiguru on Wednesday during Point Blank KTN interview.
Waiguru added that Raila is a great leader who is has shown he could be trusted with issues touching on women and the women leadership, adding that Odinga has remained consistent is creating spaces for women.

Munya has been one of the frequent visitors of Raila’s Capitol Hill offices as well as a notable figure at government functions attended by Odinga. Other Mt Kenya politicians in the Raila’s team are Priscilla Nyokabi, Ngunjiri Wambugu, Sabina Chege among others.
In the Rift Valley, Raila has successfully courted Isaac Rutto, Franklin Bett and MP Joshua Kutuny, who has grown to be a harsh DP Ruto critic. Long time Raila confidant Micah Kigen says Raila Odinga is a pro-people politician who has grown and perfected is political strategy in such a way that he can create a team with anyone.
“There is no problem in what he is doing. Kenyans are appreciating. It is all about politics. This country is looking for a leader who can take this country forward and not those chest-thumping. A leader who can deal with corruption and reduce taxes that have burdened Kenyans and that person is none other than Raila,” he said.
