Suba North MP, Millie Odhiambo, is argued to be one of the most fierce among the women leaders in the Country.
The Suba North MP has declared that she was willing to accept her Zimbabwean husband, Magugu Mabona’s illegitimate children, if at all they exist.
The MP echoed this statement while she was speaking on Monday, during the ground-breaking ceremony for a new Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Mbita Constituency.
“I have told Mabona to bring back all the children he sired out of marriage. I am ready to take care of them because I don’t want any child to suffer because their father and mother aren’t married,” she divulged.
Millie also urged men with love children (born out of wedlock) to embrace them in order to avoid the drama that may arise later, and also to ensure that the young offspring don’t suffer discrimination because they are unknown to the family.
In her statement, the fiery legislator also revealed that she was preparing a bill that would compel men to take responsibility for the children they sired.
“All children are creatures of God and they deserve their father’s love. Let no man ignore these children,” she uttered.
If the bill is successful, according to the MP, then the amendment will force men to declare their children while alive and in cases where they fail to do so, it will be legal for their mothers to declare the child/children’s father.
“Mourning with shocks and counter shocks can cause another funeral,” she posted on her social media pages.
The Suba North MP remarks come in the awakening of the revelations of Ken Okoth siring an illegitimate child with a Jubilee nominated MCA identified as Anita Thumbi.
Several other incidences have also been witnessed by men failing in the responsibilities of their illegitimate children.
