Unknown assailants, on Thursday, attacked and shot three men dead along Rongo-Homabay Highway.
The trio is alleged to be riding in a motorbike from Rongo Town where the attackers began to follow them from before they met their death.
Homa Bay Police Commander, Esther Seroney, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers fled immediately after the incident, according to Citizen Digital report.
“Our preliminary investigations reveal that the assailants who were traveling in a black saloon car were pursuing the deceased persons.
“We are conducting investigations to enable us to know the assailants and take action against them,” Seroney added.
The Police Commander further called on the residence to come forth with any leading information regarding the incident.
The body of the deceased was taken at the Homa Bay County Hospital mortuary.
In April, a similar scenario occurred at Mithuri in Naivasha, where three suspected highway robbers were gunned down by the police.
The suspects were shot and killed after they defied orders to surrender as was reported by Naivasha OCPD, John Kwasa.
