Owalo to use ANC to vie for Kibra seat, he Fell Out with ODM in 2017 because Raila preferred Ken Okoth

Eliud Owalo.

Former Raila aide Eliud Owalo had no chances of clinching the ODM ticket and vie for the Kibra MP seat. Odds were against him after he publicly ridiculed ODM Raila Odinga in 2017 when Ken Okoth was handed the ODM ticket, accusing Raila of favoring the late MP. It was at this point that Owalo made a long, disparaging, Facebook post praying for Raila Odinga to lose the 2017 polls as a payback for not giving him (Owalo) the ODM nomination for Kibra.

“I squarely blame Raila Odinga for mischievously instigating SELECTION of the ODM Parliamentary candidate for Kibra Constituency for the August 2017 elections.

“I’m however eagerly waiting for the results of the August 2017 Presidential elections in which I believe Raila will have no option but to come to terms with the sad reality that Malipo ni Hapa Hapa Duniani,” Owalo said in a post on March 2017.

“I have information at my disposal that a decision had already been made by Raila himself a while back to block Owalo in Kibra based on issues which are already in the public domain,”  he stated.

Owalo did not know his public statements would later come back to haunt him. Two years later, the Kibra seat fell vacant and he could not take back his words. The only option was to resign from the party and seek a political ticket elsewhere to vie for the Kibra seat.

The former Raila aide is now working in the Musalia Mudavadi presidential secretariat and it is believed he will be using the Amani National Congress ticket to go for the Kibra seat.
